“Visual artist Heather Cole was impressed by the art she saw in “Sustainable Acts: Mother Earth’s Embrace” at the University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment.
The exhibition brings together the work of 40 artists on themes of environmental and social justice.
Cole was particularly taken with Sarah Filipi’s photography; over the course of a year, Filipi took a picture each day of an object she found lying on the ground.
Cole says she now looks at the objects she herself finds differently. The show runs through January 15.”
